Boko Haram releases 190 hostages

The scales, however, still point to a massive genocide

Around 190 hostages were set free by extremist Sunni organization Boko Haram. These people were returned to their communities in northeastern Nigeria, according to official information.

The liberation of the hostages, some of which are young men, took place between Friday night and Saturday morning.

A Nigerian army official verified the release.

A total of 218 women and children were taken hostage, while 25 men of the same community were slaughtered, on the 6th of January in the Katarko community.
