Brad Pitt: Too famous to become a juror

His selection was denied due to the fact that he’s a Hollywood superstar

Brad Pitt was drawn as a juror in a criminal court in Los Angeles. The famous actor was invited to an interview to determine whether or not he should be selected for jury duty.

The answer to the famous actor, however, was negative because “he is famous and would divert the attention of the other jurors int he trial”. The Hollywood star’s hopes vanished, causing his frustration.

Last September, Tom Hanks was drawn for jury duty. A prosecutor employee, however, did not resist her temptation and approached the actor during breaks to talk to him, something expressly forbidden by Law. The actor was called to pay a fine of $150.

Brad Pitt’s rejection from the criminal court, according to a lawyer was due to the simple fact that “You cannot put Brad Pitt on the jury and expect the remaining 11 jurors to ignore him!”.

It should be noted that jury duty in America is randomly chosen through a list of driving licenses, identity cards and party lists. Whether they are famous or not, noone can know until the person appears in court.
