Two jihadists who recently returned from Syria have been killed following a coordinated operation of both counterterrorism service and police in Verviers, Belgium.

Initially, there was information for three dead, however the death of two people and one injured were officially confirmed.

According information by RTBF, the operation is still in progress, while local sources support that the chances of a big massacre similar to the one of Paris has been averted.

Reports on Twitter from eye witnesses state that there was gunfire which lasted approximately ten minutes, explosions, near the Verviers train station, while there is information about arrests.
