British police have fun in Kos, while searching for missing Ben

The team had a late-night drinking session in Kos hours after renewing the campaign to find the vanished toddler

British Ben Needham disappeared in the summer of 1991 while he was on holiday with his family on the Greek island of Kos. His case is still a mystery and one of the most important cases for both Greek and British police.

Officers from South Yorkshire Police traveled to Kos to find a man who contacted them anonymously in 1993 saying missing Ben Needham had his name changed to Andreas and was living with a man called Nikos, while they also asked anyone who knows anything to contact them.

The South Yorkshire Police gave £1 million of public money to the team to run the operation and cover their expenses. Nine detectives, three support staff and two press officers were appointed to the project, with a maximum of 12 people in Kos at one time. Some of the core team stayed at Aktis Hotel and they seem to have taken the opportunity to also enjoy some relaxing moments and a lot of booze.

As Daily Mail reports, the team had a late-night drinking session in Kos hours after renewing the campaign to find the vanished toddler.
