Αn agreement on the first package of 5.4 billion euros is expected to be reached

There has been intense speculation in Brussels over reaching an agreement on technical level during today’s Euroworking Group which is scheduled to begin at 6pm Brussels time.

The technical staff of eurozone’s finance ministries are expected to reach an agreement on the first package of 5.4 billion euros.

According to EU sources, Europeans are expected to agree also on backup measures of 3.6 billion euros, while the first issue to address during the meeting would be the Greek debt. European Commission and European Stability Mechanism (ESM) will participate in the meeting, while discussion will be focused on the proposal made by ESM to buy part of Greece’s loans from the IMF with a high interest rate will .
