Christmas warmth… This Lesbos cafe is winter refuge to dogs! (pics)

When the customers leave, the dogs enter

When Hott Spott cafe at the main port of the Greek Aegean isle of Lesbos (Mytilene) closes its doors to human customers, it opens its doors to dogs wishing to come in from the cold. This kind gesture warmed the hearts of many and the photo of the Christmas cafe has gone viral with hundreds of thousands of shares.

The cafe closes to customers at 3 a.m. and then lets the dogs in to sleep in warmth.

Antonis, the owner of the Hott Spott cafe says that the project began last summer: “In the city there are many dogs. When the bar closes each night, the dogs come and sleep here. We don’t have a problem. From July, every night there is a dog on the couch.”
