College degrees to be recognised, promise Greek Education Minister Filis

Nearly 3,000 holders waiting

Greek Education Minister Nikos Filis said degrees acquired by students from private colleges collaborating with European universities in Greece would be recognised by the end of 2016.

In his response to a question submitted in Parliament, Filis pointed out that the nearly 3,000 holders of such degrees would receive equivalency of their titles regarding their professional recognition to the status of degrees by Greek universities. The Minister promised to put an end to the red tape regarding the process of these degrees had to go through to recognise their titles, by setting up a committee that would expedite the matter and push the relevant Presidential decree.
