Austria’s controversial bearded artist and Eurovision Song Contest winner Conchita Wurst performed today in the Esplanade Solidarnosc of the European Parliament in Brussels, in a unique concert against homophobia and sexual discrimination.
The event was hosted by five MEPs from five different parliamentary groups, including EP Vice-President Ulrike Lunacek, Greens/EFA, Dennis De Jong, GUE/NGL, Sophie In’t Veld, ALDE, Sirpa Pietikäinen, EPP and Daniele Viotti, S&D.
Conchita Wurst also took part in a press conference which was held at the Press room of the European Parliament before the concert, during which she expressed her dissapointment that issues such as same sex marriage are still cause for debate.
