Court of Audits: Give back pensions and solidarity contributions

The court ruled pension cuts on the salaries of doctors and professors of universities of public sector violate the provisions of the Constitution

State budget might have to deal with another financial gap in its revenue due to Court of Audits decision on the pension cuts. The decision is expected to be published over the next few days.

The Greek government will have to return hundreds of millions to some pensioners of public sector retroactively from August 1, 2012, since the court plenary ruled that the retroactive pension cuts and solidarity contribution imposed by the Greek government are unconstitutional.

The court ruled that the pension cuts imposed on the salaries of doctors and professors of universities of public sector violate the provisions of the Constitution that guarantee equality and the principle of the social state of law.
