Deputy PM and FM Venizelos’ statement regarding the terrorist attacks in Egypt

The Foreign Ministry expressed its condolences to the families of the victims, and its wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos made the following statement regarding the bombing attacks in Cairo and Menufia:

“We unequivocally condemn the terrorist attacks in Cairo and at the railway station in the northern Egyptian city of Menufia, which left four persons dead and even more wounded.

We express our condolences to the families of the victims, and our wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.

The Egyptian people and the Egyptian government know that they can count on the solidarity and support of Greece, which is a firm ally in the battle against terrorism, as was also stressed in the Joint Communiqué that the Foreign Ministers of Greece, Egypt and the Republic of Cyprus issued on 29 October, in Nicosia.”
