Draft laws for upgrading state contracts in Greece

The Development Ministry hopes to bring Greek state contract procedures in alliance with European laws

The government’s draft omnibus bill tabled in Parliament yesterday with the purpose of being voted on by August 8 calls for the upgrading of the state contracts system in Greece by incorporating European laws and simplifying procedures with transparency and the reduction of administrative burden in 11 sectors of the economy.

182 clauses in 100 pages submitted by the Development Ministry aim to  bring Greek state contract procedures in alliance with European laws by setting uniform rules for awarding public supply and service contracts, combatting corruption by making the procedure more transparent and to improve the programming of works and better budget management.
