Easyjet plane makes forced landing after pilot passes out

The Easyjet copilot landed the Gatwick-Crete plane in Venice

An Easyjet plane flying from Gatwick to Crete was forced to land at Marco Polo airport, Venice, after the pilot lost consciousness. The co-pilot was forced to land the plane as paramedics rushed to meet the jet on the tarmac.

The pilot is now in hospital in a non-life threatening condition.

An spokesman for the company confirmed the fact that the flight, carrying 164 passengers, had been diverted.
