EC VP sees delays for Greek debt negotiations

European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis sees slow progress and no agreement until May at the soonest

European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis said on Thursday that he does not expect an agreement in technical talks with Greece in April. He estimates that debt negotiations could run until next month beyond the April 30 deadline for a deal, says Reuters.

Speaking with German TV network ARD, he said: “We’ve got to conduct the technical talks further and finish them perhaps in May or so.” He stressed the importance of all sides, including Greece to stick to their obligations. “The talks are going on. Progress is not good,” he said.
