More and more US citizens are supporting the idea of sending ground troops to Iraq or Syria to combat ISIS.
According to a recent survey by Pew Research Institute, almost one in two Americans (47%) is for sending ground troops to combat the jihadist threat. This percentage stood at 39% last October.
49% of Americans is opposed to a ground operation, a percentage reduced from a survey which took place four months ago which showed a percentage of 55%.
Americans also support the government’s policy of not paying ransom to hostage-takers (70%), while 25% is against said policy.
The survey had a sample of 1,504 adults in the USA between the 18th and 22nd of February.
