Foreign Ministry’s secretary general of International Economic Relations Panagiotis Mihalos met on Thursday with a six-member Chinese delegation of Guangdong region (Canton).

Alternate General Director of the Foreign Office Issues of Guangdong region Luo Zun said that the purpose of their visit to Greece is to broaden the cooperation between the two countries as well as to facilitate the communication between the two countries business communities.

Luo Jun praised the high quality and the nutritional value of the Greek agricultural products and noted that there is substantial potential for upgrading their position in the Chinese market, underlining the Chinese interest for investments, particularly in hotels and tourism sector.

On his part, Mihalos pointed out the need of an airlink between Athens and Canton. According to the secretary general, this airlink will contribute not only to the increase of the Chinese tourists arrivals but also to the upgrading of the broader bilateral economic cooperation.
