According to information of protothema.gr, the French giant “Total” is looking to disengage from the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) as research so far has not produced any positive results concerning the existence of petrol or natural gas in the area.

Reliable sources estimate that the possible withdrawal of “Total” from the Cypriot EEZ is related solely to economic reasons.

The possible departure of the French giant is a major blow to the government at Nicosia.

The Cypriot government is looking for a compromise aimed at maintaining the partnership.
