Golden Dawn MPs in custody get special leave to be sworn in

The MPs have been elected municipal and regional councilors in the last local authority elections.

According to an announcement released by prison authorities on Wednesday, jailed MPs of the extreme right-wing party Golden Dawn, who are remanded in custody on charges of forming a criminal organization, will be given special leave from the Korydallos Prison in order to attend swearing-in ceremonies.

The MPs have been elected municipal and regional councilors in the last local authority elections.

Ilias Kasidiaris and Panagiotis Iliopoulos will be sworn in on Friday, as municipal councilor in Athens and regional councilor in Thessaly, respectively.

Nikos Kouzilos will be sworn in as a Piraeus municipal councilor on Sunday.
