As evidence shows the migrants and refugees who entered Greece will stay in the country for many years, despite the promises made by the Greek government.

The competent bodies have decided to triple the length of time that the cards granted to asylum seekers will apply.

According to the Asylum Service, one year will be needed just to register tens of thousands of asylum applications submitted by the refugees and migrants entered the Greek territory during the last few months.

Moreover, based on recent data on migratory flows, the estimated number of those who will apply for asylum is approximately 50,000 people.
