Greece has the highest unemployment rate in EU

In Greece, the number of unemployed people totaled 1,205 million in June

Greek unemployment rate rose to 25.2% of the workforce in June, from 25 % in May, according to a report published by Eurostat.

Based on that report, the number of unemployed people in the EU totaled 23 million and in the Eurozone 17.6 million in August. Greece and Spain recorded the highest unemployment rates in the EU with 25.2% and 22.2% respectively.

Germany, Czech Republic and Malta recorded the lowest unemployment rates with 4.5%, 5.0% and 5.1% respectively.

In Greece, the number of unemployed people totaled 1,205 million in June, with the unemployment rate among young people (aged below 25 years) fell to 48.3% from 51.4% in May.
