Influenced by the events, swimmers at a beach in Heraklion panicked when they spotted an aerial target, thinking it was an Iranian drone.

Eventually, it turned out to be an inactive aerial target used in shooting ranges for testing weapon systems and was washed ashore.

According to information from cretaone.gr, the relevant authorities were notified for its retrieval, while an initial examination suggests that it had been in the sea for quite some time, as it showed strong signs of rust on its metallic parts.
