What will happen with political party Spartiates (Spartens)

The announcement from the Supreme Court will determine the result of the Spartiates (Spartans) political party. There are concerns regarding the party’s ties to Elias Kasidiaris, who has been convicted of criminal acts. New Democracy (ND) and PASOK have raised objections to the party’s participation. Additionally, an investigation by prosecutor Georgia Adelini led to proposals for criminal prosecution for election fraud against members of the Parliamentary Group. ND, supported by a 37-page memorandum and extensive documentation, calls for the party’s exclusion from the electoral process, arguing that convicted leader Kasidiaris exercises the real leadership of Spartiates. The decision from the Supreme Court is expected today and is crucial for the Spartans’ participation in the European elections which will further impact the final outcome of the party’s legality in parliament.
