Greek elections: A rainy day for voting

Can rain influence the election outcome? We’re about to find out!

The exodus of regional voters began on Friday. The national meteorological service (EMY) warns of rains and local thunderstorms in the west, north and east Aegean.

Attica

Clouds at the start of the day will slowly increase with rains expected in the afternoon. Wind velocity is from 5-6 Beaufort with 7-8 Beaufort at certain periods. Temperatures are from 10-17C.

Thessaloniki

Clouds, rains and local showers are in store with wind velocity from 4-6 Beaufort and temperatures from 8-13C.

Saturday, January 24

The day before the elections will be marked by rains and showers. Weather around the country will be unstable with local showers and storms, especially in coastal regions. Snow is expected in mountain regions around west Macedonia and Epirus. Wind velocity from 5-7 Beaufort and a drop in temperatures is expected.

Sunday, January 25

The weather will be cloudy with rains and showers. Local snowfall is expected in central and northern areas with winds from 4-5 Beaufort in regions north and west of the country, and 6-7 Beaufort to the east and northwest.  Temperatures are to remain steady.

Monday, January 26

Monday marks a new day with a new government, but still cloudy with local showers as far as the weather is concerned. Wind velocity will be at 4-5 Beaufort around the country with a drop in temperatures.
