Greek police capture Britain’s most wanted cocaine dealer

Following the arrest, cocaine kingpin Simon Dutton is heading back to England to face charges related to drug dealing

Suspected drug dealer Simon Dutton, aged 38, has been arrested in Thessaloniki, Greece, as the “main player” of a major cocaine smuggling operation. The dealer from Bolton, Greater Manchestor, was on the list of Britain’s Most Wanted criminals and was captured following a joint operation by U.K.’s National Crime Agency (NCA) and the Hellenic police.

A fugitive for more than six years, Dutton was wanted for being a member of a crime gang that allegedly tried to smuggle cocaine worth £1.6 million into Britain. These drugs were seized during a raid in Stockport in 2009. A European arrest warrant was out for Dutton since the raid. Following the arrest, Dutton is heading back t England to face pending extradition proceedings on charges of drug importation, drug supply and money laundering.
