Athens metro, electric railway and tram workers are walking off their job from 9 p.m. on Wednesday after an attack against ticket inspectors at Omonoia Square in the Athens center.

During the attack, inspectors were assaulted on Monday night by men wearing hoods and helmets.

Employees are now demanding increased security measures to protect the inspectors from similar incidents.
