Hardouvelis – Lenders meeting on preliminary draft budget is completed

So far all Ministries involved stress that negotiations “going very well” with troika accepting without reacting the Greek positions

Today the Minister of Finance is expected to present the preliminary draft budget to lenders, before is submitted in Parliament on Monday.

The draft will include a description of the tax cuts announced by the Prime Minister and that the government promotes for begin from the 1.1.2015 and onwards.

So far all Ministries involved stress that negotiations are “going very well” with troika accepting without reacting the Greek positions, meaning no further measures for achieving the targets for 2015, although Troika has not made clear as yet its intentions.

It seems that a lot can change in the next visit of the creditors in Athens. Troika will be have ongoing discussions with the Ministry of Finance, while in Parliament will be conducted the debate for the vote of confidence.

 

Practically, the first round of contacts in Athens will be completed by Wednesday evening so by Thursday morning Troika leaves our country and will be back after the completion of the banks stress test on the 26-27 of October.
