Independent MP Yatayana revises her statements under the threat of legal action

In a written statement released on Saturday afternoon, Ms. Yatayana said that she never claimed that the whole story was set up by Panos Kammenos.

Following threats of legal action by Independent Greeks (ANEL) leader Panos Kammenos, independent MP Chryssoula Yatayana who used to be a member of ANEL revised the statements she made earlier on Saturday, in relation to the alleged bribery case involving ANEL deputy Pavlos Chaikalis.

More specifically, in a written statement released on Saturday afternoon, Ms. Yatayana said that she never claimed that the whole story was set up by Panos Kammenos.

Moreover, she underlined that she doesn’t know if Yorgos Apostolopoulos, the alleged middleman of the bribery attempt, is still an associate of ANEL leader, contrary to her earlier statements in the presence of at least 5 reporters.

Ms. Yatayana had stated earlier in the day that Apostolopoulos is still ANEL leader’s associate. In fact, last October he called her on the phone in order to persuade her to return to the Independent Greeks, the Independent MP said, adding that she has no esteem for this person.
