Invasion of Ukraine: Moscow’s negotiations with Kyiv completed

The two sides’ negotiators will return to their bases to receive instructions and proceed to a second round of talks “in the near future”

The talks between the Ukrainian and Russian negotiators in the city of Gomel in Belarus have been completed for the time being.

According to the Russian agency RIA Novosti, the negotiators of Moscow and Kiev will return to their bases, in order to inform their political leaders, to receive further instructions and to proceed to a second round of talks “in the near future”.

According to the adviser to the presidential office of Ukraine, the two sides have identified a number of priority issues, and have drawn up a list of possible solutions.

He said there was progress on a number of issues on which the two sides could agree.

Citing the Russian delegation, the Belarusian state news agency reported that the next round of talks would take place in the coming days. Most likely, the venue will be on the border between Poland and Belarus.
