March unemployment rate: 25.6%

A slight downwards trend

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for March of 2015 reached 25.6%, compared to the downward-revised 26.9% of March 2014, and the upwards-revised 25.6% of February 2015, according to the Hellenic Statistical Authority.

 

The total number of employment in March 2015 is estimated to be 3,518,858 people. The unemployed are estimated at 1,211,507, and the amount of financially inactive populace is estimated at 3,363,392 people.

 

The amount of employed individuals rose by 14,056 compared to March 2014 (up by 0.4%) and were reduced by 16,092 compared to February 2015 (down by 0.5%).

 

Unemployment was reduced by 79,395 people compared to March 2014 (down by 6.2%) and 4,283 compared to February 2015 (down by 0.4%).

 

Financially inactive individuals, meaning those who are not seeking employment, and are not employed, rose by 13,891 compared to March 2014 (up by 0.4%), and 16,751 compared to February 2015 (up by 0.5%).
