On Thursday the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE) and the Greek Civil Servants’ Confederation (ADEDY) have declared a general strike where almost all labour unions participate.
The main protest rally started at 11:00 am on Klafthmonos Square, while PAME (labour union affiliated to Communist Party) had decided to hold its own rally which started at 10:30 in Omonia.
About 25,000 people participated in PAME’s rally, whereas about 15,000 participated in GSEE-ADEDY rally and 5,000 demonstrators are gathered at Patision Street. In total, at least 45,000-50,000 were on the streets protesting against government’s measures.
