Moderate quake rocks Kefallonia

The affected area has long been plagued by seismic activity

An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale shook was reported in the Ionian sea at 15.05 GMT on Tuesday, shaking the already quake-stricken island of Kefallonia (Cephalonia).

The tremor’s epicenter was near the city of Lixouri. No damages were reported, although two tourists were reportedly slightly injured from falling rocks in the Myrtos area. An earlier quake measured 3.3 on the Richter scale.
