Moralis leads by two points in Piraeus

Mr. Moralis received 33.29 %, followed by Mr. Michaloliakos with 31.30 % and Mr. Dritsas with 17.09 %

The “Pireaeus Winner” political formation of Moralis – Marinakis is proved to be an emerging dominant force despite the estimates prevailing during the past weeks showing that the current mayor Vassilis Michaloliakos will get the first place.

Hundreds of citizens of Piraeus went at the offices of the political formation to share their joy and satisfaction on the results.

According to the results so far (97.19 % incorporation) Mr. Moralis receives 33.29 %, followed by Mr. Michaloliakos with 31.30 % and Mr. Dritsas with 17,09 %. Mrs. Pantelaki of KKE comes fourth with 6.70 % while the candidate of GD Mr Kouzilos receives 5.67%.

These results show that Moralis – Marinakis managed to rally voters of Piraeus winning the first tough bet.

Vangelis Marinakis upon his arrival at the offices of “Pireaeus Winner” said: We are moving calmly, we have another week of hard work”.

The final battle will be between Mr Moralis and the current mayor Mr Michaloliakos as Mr Dritsas supported by SYRIZA seems to be left behind.

A triggering fact will be the voters who supported candidates who did not pass to the second round.

It should be also noted that Moralis and Marinakis had supported openly Mr Dritsas. Indeed, Mr Marinakis had clarify during an interview that if he had not participated in the elections he would have supported the candidate of SYRIZA.

In any case it is considered that SYRIZA’s voters will not support a candidate of New Democracy.

The same goes for the voters of Mrs Pantelaki who is supported by the Greek Communist Party whereas the voters of Mr Kouzilos (Golden Dawn) will probably support Mr Michaloliakos.

Moralis: We rocked the boat

The crowd welcomed Yannis Moralis on Sunday night with great enthusiasm and cheers.

“Today we made the first step, rocking the boat at Piraeus port” Mr Moralis said adding that “Piraeus turns its back to yesterday. Seven out of ten citizens of Piraeus disapproved the outgoing mayor and his ostensible work”.

“Today I want to address the citizens who didn’t vote for us this first Sunday: I want to call them to come join us, so that with respect and dignity we will be able to fight for one more week, in order to create the Piraeus Winner”.
