Murder in Agioi Anargyroi: Policeman says “In the heat of the moment, I said the patrol car isn’t a taxi”

In his testimony, he claimed that he did not understand what exactly was happening at the time of the phone call

The reasons why he told 28-year-old Kyriaki that “the police car is not a taxi” just before the woman was murdered outside the Agioi Anargyroi police station were explained by the policeman who was talking to her on the phone.

As Star reported on Wednesday, the police officer reportedly told his superiors that he said the phrase in passing.

In his statement, he further explained that he did not understand what exactly was happening at the time of the phone call and that he did not feel that the victim was in danger.

The Star also reported that it was a young police officer, about 25 years old, who had been in the position since last October.

After the audio was revealed, he was removed from the station and taken to the GADA. He previously served in a police station in Athens.
