ND leader: Police must intervene in University spaces under occupation

He underlined that the fundamental rights of thousands of students and their families are currently being violated.

New Democracy (ND) leader Antonis Samaras called Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday to authorize the police to intervene in the University premises that are under occupation, so that the law can be finally implemented.

“It’s something that should have happened days ago,” Samaras noted, underlining that the fundamental rights of thousands of students and their families are currently being violated.

According to the former PM, the alternate minister’s public statements reveal that the government’s policy of holding a dialogue with anti-state individuals has led to an impasse.

“Lawlessness spreads throughout the country with every passing moment and the government with its provocative policies is the one to blame,” said Samaras.
