New provocations in the Aegean: Three mock dogfights between Greek & Turkish jets

Turkey is escalating the tensions in the area – All six of the THK F-16s that violated the Greek airspace & the Athens FIR were armed

Ankara continues its provocative behavior in the Aegean after the unacceptable and legally unfounded theories of the Turkish YPAM Hulusi Akar about the extent of the Greek sea and airspace.

Today six Turkish F-16s flew over the Aegean Sea today, Monday, and they were all armed. In three cases there were mock dogfights with the Greek jet fighters. Turkish fighter jets flew in three formations in the Northeast Aegean, while an ATR-72 naval cooperation aircraft flew individually.

In total, there were seven violations of national airspace and five violations of air traffic rules in the Athens FIR.

The Turkish aircraft were identified and intercepted in accordance with international rules, in accordance with established practice.
