No more pork in Germany for fear of offending Muslim refugee minorities

CDU party members react

Germany might be renowned the world over for its sausages, but it seems this about to change. The large influx of refugees and illegal immigrants into the country has led to the decision by many vendors to withdraw all pork related food from canteens, schools and childcare centers in order to avoid offending the newly arrived Muslims. According to German media, an increasing number of school canteens and childcare centers have stopped offering pork sausages and bacon to the students, something that caused an uproar in society. Even politicians within German Chancellor, Angela Merkel’s (dubbed Momma Merkel by refugees for her open borders policy) CDU party have expressed their disapproval over the withdrawal of pork related food to accommodate the religious sensitivities of the Muslim refugees, arguing that the food is part of the traditional German culture and the majority of the indigenous Germans also a right to choose. Daniel Gunther, the party’s representative said ‘Protecting minorities, even for religious matters, should not mean that the majority is limited to making free choices”.
