No trains or suburban railway on July 12 due to strike

Workers protest privatisation of train services

Trains and the suburban railway will be not operating on Tuesday, July 12, due to the 24-hour strike called by union workers. The strike will also disrupt the metro between Dukissis Plakentias and the Athens International Airport stations and vice versa. The unionists issued a statement explaining they were protesting against the privatisation of the railway after Italian company TRENITALIA submitted a binding tender. TRAINOSE workers decided to continue industrial action in the suburban railway until Thursday, July 14.
