Govt spox says previous governments didn’t negotiatie memoranda

The spokeswoman also points to the … benefits of the “leftist memorandum” her government signed and presented

The spokesperson of the outgoing SYRIZA-ANEL government, Olga Gerovasili, said elections were imperative as a new strong mandate is needed.
In an interview on Tuesday to Real FM radio, Gerovasili expressed hope that the possibility of an absolute government majority was a feasible goal in the upcoming elections.
“A new difficult reality has emerged for the country and so elections had to be held the same year. We are dealing with this reality and trying to respond democratically”, she underlined. Commenting on the previous governments she claimed they had not negotiated any of the memoranda.
Gerovasili continued by pointing out that the 3rd bailout plan had positive aspects, citing the 3-year funding schedule as a ‘big plus’. Furthermore, she argued that the fact talks on the restructuring of the Greek debt were brought to the table was also a positive contribution of the SYRIZA negotiations with Greece’s creditors.
