Panathinaikos advance to next round of Europa League with second win against AIK Stockholm

Panathinaikos advanced to the next round of the Europa League with an aggregate of 3-0, after beating Swedish team AIK Stockholm (2-0) in their second leg tie in Sweden. The greens scored twice in the second half with Colombian forward Ibarbo in the 46th minute and Swedish striker Marcus Berg. The other two Greek clubs playing in the competition did not fare as well, with both being eliminated. AEK Athens lost to French club Saint Etienne (1-0) at home, while Giannina also lost 2-1 to Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in Greece. Panathinaikos, along with PAOK and Olympiakos will go into Friday’s Europa League draw to find out their next opponents in the competition’s playoff stage.
