Passenger traffic in Greek airports rose by 17% last year

According to a report released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on January 15, passenger traffic in Greek airports soared by 17% in 2014.

This increase, which translates to about 6.5 million people, brought the total number of passengers to 45 million.

More specifically, the international passenger traffic grew by 15.2% in 2014, compared with the previous year, while domestic traffic made a strong comeback with a 21.5% increase.

According to the agency, the top 10 Greek airports in 2014 were:

– Athens (15.12 million passengers)

– Thessaloniki (6.17 million passengers),

– Heraclio (6.13 million passengers),

– Rhodes (4.55 million passengers),

– Chania (2.49 million passengers),

– Corfu (2.38 million passengers),

– Cos (2.21 million passengers),

– Zakynthos (1.14 million passengers),

– Mykonos (0.78 million passengers)

– Santorini (0.77 million passengers).
