The jetsetters island of Hydra looks over the Argosaronic gulf and is ideal for romantic walks through the winding cobblestoned alleyways. The 500 donkeys on the island provide the main means of public transportation as cars have been banned. The island is also the birthplace of five Greek PMs and its fleet also played a great role in Greece’s War of Independence in 1821.
