Poland’s foreign minister says it should not exclude the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine

Despite Sikorski's remarks, Poland's Defense Ministry spokesperson, Janusz Sejmej, stated he was unaware of any plans to send troops

Newsroom May 31 09:11

Poland’s foreign minister, Radek Sikorski, suggested that Poland should not rule out the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine, urging a strategy that keeps Russian President Vladimir Putin uncertain about Poland’s potential actions. Sikorski’s comments, made in an interview with Gazeta Wyborcza, emphasize maintaining strategic ambiguity to keep Putin guessing.

Despite Sikorski’s remarks, Poland’s Defense Ministry spokesperson, Janusz Sejmej, stated he was unaware of any plans to send troops, responding to a report in Germany’s Der Spiegel.

The notion of deploying foreign soldiers to Ukraine, facing Russian aggression, has been considered in France but has not been officially adopted by any country, including Poland.
