Truck driver transporting 143 kilos of cannabis

The Greek police arrested a 51 year old truck driver at the port of Patras, in the Peloponnese for drug trafficking. Officers of the regional narcotics units in conjunction with the port authorities apprehended the suspect when the Ancona to Patras ferry, which his freezer truck was on docked. After a search authorities found 143 kilos of hashish stashed in the sides of his palettes. Police confiscated 10 bags containing 40 kilos of hash, 34 plastic containers with 35 kilos processed cubes of cannabis, 40 plastic containers with 67 kilos of cannabis in chocolate bars. The man accepted to cooperate with the police and deliver the load to Piraeus where his drop off was expecting him. There the police arrested a 33-year old foreign national who had a fake passport and driver’s license, while he was Interpol’s wanted list.
