Putin escaped assassination attempt two months ago, Ukrainian secret services say

Behind the attempt are representatives of the Caucasus region, which includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and parts of southern Russia

An assassination attempt was made against Russian President Vladimir Putin, according a statement of the head of the General Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Kirill Budanov to Ukrainska Pravda.

According to the newspaper, Budanov stated that the attempt was made two months ago, that is, while the Russian invasion of Ukraine had already begun.

In fact, as he said, behind the attempt are representatives of the Caucasus region, which includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and parts of southern Russia.

“This is non-public information. (It was) a completely unsuccessful attempt, but it really happened. It was about two months ago”, Budanov was quoted as saying, adding that although there was no publicity about the incident, it did happen.
