Vladimir Putin was announced to be the “Man of the Year” in Russia for the 15th straight year, according to Interfax news agency.

The Russian President garnered 68% of the votes of Russian citizens, during the big poll run by Public Opinion Foundation and in which 1,500 Russians in 43 Russian provinces took part.

According to Russia Today “the public confirmed that Vladimir Putin plays the most important role in the country’s social and political life”.

The 15th consecutive “win” for Putin, who has been racking them up since 1999, is a record.
