Refugee crisis: 242 rescued off Lesbos, 10 dead (pics + vid)

A number of refugees are risking their lives to make the dangerous crossing before winter worsens the conditions of the sea

The Greek coastguard rescued 242 migrants north of the coast of Lesbos on Wednesday with at least ten people drowned and the body of a man and two small boys already found after an extensive search in the area.

The conditions of the journey are worsening, but refugees are risking the journey in efforts to beat the onset of winter in crossing the narrow sea passages between Turkey and Greece.
