Minoan-era remains located in latest underwater research

The latest technology combining geology and IT, such as magnetic cartography, was employed in a series of underwater and coastal research and excavations off Crete this summer.

The Nirou or Kokkino Hani site, Istros, near the village of Kalo Chorio and the Poros site near Elounda — ancient Olous — were the focus of research over the summer by the culture ministry’s underwater antiquities eforate.
