SETE: We will reach the target of 19 million tourists

Despite the problems in the Russian and Ukrainian markets

The Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE) stressed its confidence that the 19 million tourists target set for 2014 will be met, despite the problems in the Russian and Ukrainian markets.

According to SETE’s data published by the organization and concern the international arrivals in the January-July period, all the major airports in the country show double-digit increases in July, while the highest rates were recorded in Athens (+31%), Chania (+22.9%), Mykonos (+39.9%), Santorini (+26.7%) and Kalamata (+62.5%). Heraklion airport is an exception, since it recorded only a 2.7% rise compared to last year.

Based on the data available, Athens is still on a recovery trend recording an increase over than 25% in July and 31% rise in one year’s month period and it seems that it will exceed the 2014 target of 750,000 additional arrivals.
