Seven babies found dead in German flat

Police are seeking the suspected mother

German police say they have found the bodies of seven babies in blankets, packed in a plastic bag in a flat in the Bavarian town of Wallenfels, south Germany. Officers are on a search to find the woman believed to be the infants’ mother, aged 45. She has been described by a neighbor as a “kind person”.
The first body was found by a woman on Thursday afternoon at the apartment. She immediately alerted the police and they found several more babies in a room in the flat. Other media reports point to a doctor finding the infants after a call he received to come to the property.
A large coffin was brought to the area by police to carry the babies. Forensic experts are examining the bodies in a process which will take some time. The results will be ready at the beginning of next week.
Police are seeking the suspected mother. It is still not clear how long the babies were dead for .
