State Minister: No privatizations for water supply, energy companies

On the extension of the loan agreement, the State Minister said that it will be presented to the parliament for discussion

State Minister Alekos Flambouraris underlined on Tuesday that the new leftist government is determined not to allow the water and energy sectors to end up in private hands.

Speaking to the SYRIZA-affiliated radio “Kokkino,” Flambouraris ruled out the possibility of the privatization for the water company and electricity monopoly, pledging to review of the privatizations of state assets whose contracts have not yet been signed, including a deal for the privatization 14 regional airports.

Asked about the extension of a loan agreement with eurozone creditors, the State Minister confirmed that it will be presented to the Parliament for discussion and that there is no need for ratification.
