Bank of Greece (BoG) Gov. Yiannis Stournaras reiterated on Thursday that “bank deposits as safe as ever”, dismissing rumour-mongering aimed at the domestic banking sector.
Stournaras, the one-time finance minister in the previous government, also said that Wednesday evening’s ECB decision on restricting the use of Greek bonds as collateral will be rescinded following a “new agreement”, without citing what type of agreement.
